Soybean Meal (SBM) is a by-product of soybean oil extraction. It undergoes several stages of production, resulting in various different products. In the extraction process, soybeans are roughly ground, heated, pressed, and the resulting oil is extracted using a solvent (typically hexane). The coarse soybean flakes then dried to remove the solvent.
